Our Foster Parenting Experience

We jump into our discussion right away about Leeland's increasing visits and how all of us are reacting.

We're back and better than ever.... Or at least we are back. We discuss our long break and have a lot of updates in regards to Leeland.

The title pretty much says it all. We talk about what it's like to go to a court hearing for a foster child.

Things were going really well with Leeland until a busy weekend showed us just how attached and dependent on us he has become for his sense of stability. We talk about what we learned through this experience and what we could have done better. We also introduce a couple new segments to the show that we hope will be recurring in future episodes.

The title pretty much says it all. Mary reviews her experience with WIC checks at the grocery store and then we recount our adventures from our first foster parenting association meeting.

First things first, this time we got the volume right. We provide a couple status updates and detail how we family bike ride with all 3 of our kids. The main discussion of the episode is how God worked on both our hearts to prepare us to be foster parents.

We've been fostering Leeland for 2 months and had concluded his dad wasn't in the picture. Spoiler alert: we were wrong! Find out what happened and the impact it had on our perspective. (And sorry about the low volume!)

We're back from the Outer Banks and we survived, despite an emergency room visit and more traffic jams than we'd like to remember. We discuss what's involved with taking a foster child out of state, and how Leeland did away from the routines and comfort he's developed at our home.

We have an update on how long Leeland will be staying with us and then discuss how each of us are adjusting to being a family of 5.

We recently became foster parents and want to share our experience with others to keep them informed and hopefully to encourage others to become foster parents as well. In this episode we provide a little background on ourselves, talk about our first placement, and discuss how we made the decision to become foster parents.
